GRAPHIC DESIGN
Type Posters
I have designed typeface posters for 2 typefaces; Elephant by the proclaimed type designer Matthew Carter and Beatrice Display by Sharptype type foundry. I have always enjoyed using Elephant for bold headings in my posters. My recent interest in surfing type foundries led to my discovery of Beatrice Display

Beatrice Display
This typeface has an exploration of contrast methodologies, combining various aspects from the canon expansionist systems, inverted contrast, and the contrast behavior of standard sans-serif grotesks.
Construction of the high internal contrast
the contrast methodology of Beatrice–the system for determining how the thicks and thins are applied to the skeleton–is done by applying a new rationale, a system we are referring to as “internal contrast.”
How does the typeface feel to me?
Beatrice Display to me gives a thick, creamy, soupy feel. The font has a super high internal contrast and a tightly packed Display cut. I have translated this feeling of Soup in the word Soup within the poster. I experimented with textures, vertical text and really felt the font while making its poster.
